About Us 'HOKU' - Hawaiian word meaning Star.
Hoku Water Sports takes great pride in providing quality tours, lessons, equipment rental, retail merchandise
and a safe, fun time. The name Hoku was chosen to symbolize the shining example we strive to achieve and
share with those around us. Since 1970, our owner, Greg Davis, has played in the ocean and experienced great
joy and excitement, learned many skills and most of all, learned to respect the ocean. Since 1990, Greg has
worked and played in the Hawaii ocean recreation and resort industry. Over 20 years of experience serving
guests, providing sailing, wind surfing, surfing and canoe paddling lessons, guiding kayak tours, creating new
excursions, starting two businesses, providing island information and equipment rental along with working
with resorts on two islands has provided priceless training and education. Our associates are well-trained and
very knowledgeable about Kaua'i and its ocean activities.
When we are not working, you can find us surfing, competing in local canoe races and wave-riding events,
snorkeling with our families, hiking or biking, eating local foods, running our errands, shopping at a local
Farmer's Market and generally enjoying the island lifestyle.
Our mission is to provide an experience and service that exceeds our guests expectations and to leave a
positive, lasting impression.
