Outrigger Canoe Rides

This is what started it all! Join us on a unique ocean adventure aboard a traditional Hawaiian Outrigger Surfing Canoe.
Rides include a brief narrative on the cultural significance and history of the Hawaiian outrigger canoe. A paddling
demonstration and safety briefing are given before entering the water. The paddle will be around Kalapaki Bay sharing
points of interest and the history of Kalapaki Beach and the surrounding area. The legendary Duke Kahanamoku played in
this area when he visited Kaua'i. The thrill comes when we catch and surf the waves as far as we can, hopefully staying
upright! At certain times of the year we also offer rides on the south shore in Poipu Beach. This is very dependent on
ocean conditions.

It is fun, exciting, informative and definitely a one-of-a-kind experience! Perpetuating the Hawaiian tradition of outrigger
canoe paddling is an important aspect of this activity. It has been designated as the official team sport of Hawai'i!

Days of Operation: Monday through Saturday (Reservations Required)

Times of Rides: Rides start at 9:00 am. Schedule is flexible, but reservations must be made in advance.

Duration of Rides: Each ride will be approximately 50-minutes plus briefing and demo.

Price: $40 per person + tax for 50-minute ride plus demonstration and narrative

- We take a maximum of 4 guests per ride. This depends on individuals sizes and ocean conditions.
- Special arrangements may be made for groups, parties or functions.
