From Our Customers

  • “Chris, our instructor was amazing! We stayed at the Koa Kea so we were right by their office but I would seek them out even if we were not staying there. They have a great location near Poipu Beach for surf lessons and reasonably priced rentals of any water activity you can imagine. We did not learn about their outrigger canoe surfing until it was too late in our vacation to enjoy it but would definitely schedule it ahead of time for our next trip.”
  • “My husband and I were the only ones in the lesson, although I think there is room for 4 so we really lucked out. Chris started with some on-land teaching, then brought us to the water for some ocean safety awareness. After that, Chris had us go through a wave without trying to stand up and before you know it, he was catching waves for us. I had such an amazing amount of fun. The way that Chris taught was entertaining and intuitive. I surfed until I got too tired. It was a blast and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.”
  • “My kids (ages 17 & 14) took surf lessons from Hoku Water sports in Poipu. The owner, Greg was very nice and helpful. The instructor, Ziggy, was great with the kids. The lessons take place in front of the Kiahuna Plantation and it is a perfect spot to learn. After some brief instruction on land, the instructors stand in the waist deep water and give a little push to catch the wave. Both kids got up on the first try!”
